Sweet Sake substitute

Sweet sake is needed in the making of gotcha pork which is on the other blog. The link: https://popculturecooking.wordpress.com/2016/10/14/gotcha_pork/

Sake can be hard to find, that is why I am giving a substitute.

I found that a sake substitute can be rice wine vinegar. In the Gotcha Pork recipe it is using 1/4 cup of sweet sake. 1/4 cup of sake can be substituted with 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar with 3 tablespoons of water. Since the recipe calls for sweet sake and not normal sake, juice can be used instead of water or sugar (1 teaspoon) can be added.

Incase rice wine vinegar cannot be found for the above substitute, white wine vinegar or white wine or apple cider vinegar can also be used.

But… if you have sake but not sweet sake, then just add a teaspoon of sugar.

Hope this makes it easier for you.

Thanks ❤
